Mary Robinson was guest speaker at a well supported external reception last Friday, with 85 attendees from key organisations and legal professionals with an interest in human rights. The Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament also attended. This event was to mark the co-location of The Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Scottish Human Rights Commission in Scotland.
Mary Robinson spoke about business-led initiative with human rights aspect, companies global responsibility with presence in countries where human rights breached, how they deal with situation and also spoke about her time as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the audience found it informative and inspirational.
